About Operation Walk

How All Things Happen

Operation Walk is a not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization that provides free surgical treatments for patients in developing countries and in the United States. These patients suffer from debilitating bone and joint conditions, such as arthritis, and do not have access to medical care. Operation Walk also educates local orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and other health care professionals on the most advanced treatment of hip and knee joint diseases. Founded in 1994, Operation Walk teams have operated on hundreds of patients in Russia, Cuba, Nepal, China, the Philippines, Peru, Nicaragua, Mexico and the United States.

How You Can Help Us

It is truly only through the generosity of extraordinary donors that Operation Walk Denver is able to continue restoring the joy of walking to so many in developing countries. The people in these regions have little or no access to life-changing care. The ability to walk may mean the difference being able to work to support a family and being homebound forcing family members to do whatever necessary to survive.

In order to ensure the long-term success of Operation Walk Denver, an endowment was established in 2008. An endowment is a collection of funds that produce income for a program or organization. Typically, program activities are partially financed from investment proceeds and generally, an endowment is kept intact and only the income generated is used.
